There's this Instagram person, Arvotervo, who creates these bosh, (mostly) pastel-hued, phonto and emoji posts. The phonto ones say things like, "I'd like to play with your butt ... but I never took saxaphone lessons." The emoji ones show things like a mouse eyelazering a cd. Here are a few examples. You can check out more at Arvotero's Instagram.

Anna Ayeroff - Crystal World
Here's a photo of Anna Ayeroff's Crystal World gallery stonehenge of crystal+tree+shrub scrulpture-ites. I want to become an iridescent green stag beetle and live there.
Joan Cornellà - Jimbo the Jam
Wouldn't it be weird if the floating dog behind your head actually became your head? That is, until your head appeared underneath the dog's second head? That's what happens in this comic by Spanish illustrator Joan Cornellà.
I wonder what unconscious surrealist urge is expressing itself through this non sequitur. Maybe it's that urge to become a dog that sleeps all day and sniffs things and has the ability to grow an extra arm-head. Hm. I don't know. But, I like it.
Dan Hernandez - Genesis 2014
In his series, Genesis 2014, Dan Hernandez mixes Super Mario Bros hallmarks with ancient religious frescoes. 2-up, Dan. Hi-fives. These are amazeballs.
I particularly dig this Untitled piece in which Jesus fights Roman soldiers with fire(balls) from heaven (like a fire-flower-powered Mario) through the halls of his inquisition (bottom two stages) and the tortures of Gethsemane (upper-right corner) to the resurrection moment in which (evoking Fra Angelico's Resurrection of Christ and Women at the Tomb) the Son of Man vanquishes his enemies, the Roman soldiers, by the power of his holy light.
The bridegroom of heaven's solo crusade takes place in Super Mario-style castlerooms connected by floating platforms that he must fight to ascend.
See more of these pop-culture-frescoes at the Kim Foster gallery site.
John F Malta - Summerbabe
Summerbabe poster by illustrator, comic artist, painter, writer phenom John F Malta is 2D and blue and has a weird little animal in it and a girl wearing cat ears. The beach has lots of bones and trash and little pinchy beach creatures strewn about. Maybe that's why the summerbabe is scowling. Either that, or the fact she's wearing a turtleneck. It's part of his series House of Ghouls. Check out more of his work here.
Pat Kewley is a girl
I like this video of Pat Kewley reading at what looks like a Cinco de Mayo party about how he is tiny little pretty rosy-cheeked little peanut who shits daisies and will birth fluffy little babies who will one day wash away the decadent totems of man and his sinfulness.
You'll have to work until you and your shit life end: an uplifting comic - Noah Van Sciver
After I'd spent at least twenty pathetic minutes complaining about the symptoms of the Millennial sickness that is the problem of requiring meaningful and fulfilling labor or at least time to pursue what seems like more meaningful, fulfilling labor ("no, I'm, like, a real writer not just one that gets a job as a writer for an advertising agency ... er, tech company!) I found this awesome cartoon by Noah Van Sciver perfectly titled: "you'll have to work until you and your shit life end: an uplifting comic."
This cartoon was the result of Noah's asking a Colorado band or musician four questions and then drawing their conversation. A particularly cathartic and hilarious line is the one from the giddy DJ doing mindnumbing data entry next to what looks like a crying baby boomer: "I only have to work this job until my DJing/band/art career really takes off!" he beams.
Aw, snap! Lolz. *wipes tear, slaps knee* That's a good one! Fuuuuck, I feel better now somehow. Thanks for the slap to the face, yo.

The horror! The horror! Matt Kish's Illustrated Heart of Darkness
In Hyperallergenic, Kish explained that he illustrated Conrad's Heart of Darkness using mostly yellow and green markers -- spring-y colors -- because “it was folly to think that terrible things happen only in the dark.” Eesh.
So that you can compare the happily-colored illustrations with the novel, here are some unsettling quotes from Heart of Darkness pared with Kish's art:
“Even extreme grief may ultimately vent itself in violence--but more generally takes the form of apathy.”
“We live as we dream -- alone."
"It echoed loudly within him because he was hollow at the core.”
Ermph.
Now that I'm aesthetically-frazzled from the psychological horror ("it was written I should be loyal to the nightmare of my choice”), it's time for me to pet my black-and-white kitty and read some funny Tweets. That is, after I check out more of Matt Kish's art and stuff. Doo doo doo.
kamehana0kala - grafitti artist
Grafitti artist, kamehana0kala (instagram handle) tags a mix of styles (Hawaiian tribal plus bold-color-scribbled street grafitti) onto watertowers, pillars, bunkers, wells, walls, tunnels crumbling in the midst of fecund Hawaiian jungle.
Can't get enough of these urban + tropical visual scapes loomed over by Oahu's humid, wild sky. Aloha nui loa.

Douglas Hale - The Architect
Illustrator Douglas Hale creates neon, angular collage art from creative commons images that ready, aim, fire at the heart of the nouveau astrologist cum armchair historian hipster. (Which may or may not include me. One can never be so sure.)
Anywho, I'm getting one here for the wall above my taxidermied animal collection and my mid-mod chaise lounge. You should, too.
Cats That Look Like Pin Up Girls
I love cats so much that I think I follow more cats than people on Instagram. I'm perfect for this Internet age of cat ladies. Meet you at the Internet Cat Video Festival? Aw, hell yiis! (No, but seriously.)
Consequently, Cat Art Show LA, a self-proclaimed "meditation and ... celebration of the feline form" is right up my alley. Which is where I found a link to the venerable Cats That Look Like Pin Up Girls tumblr. Yay cats. That look like pinups. Maow.
Alan Dickson aka alanrules - Be Healthy, Yeah (NSFW)
I met Alan in Brooklyn at his art show. He'd plastered the walls with shinnnny gold pom poms he said Cee Lo Green had used in a music video. (Or maybe it was the 2012 superbowl halftime show starring Madonna. One of those.)
Near the gold pom pom wall, he'd hung babe-alicious bodies peeking out from the gold poms.
His series, "Be Healthy, Yeah," follows suit with the babe-alicious photos. But, in the series it's bodies + fruit. More body than fruit. But, yeah. They're pretty cool. Check 'em out.
Be Healthy. Yeah.

My Panda Shall Fly and Adventure Elephant | "Opening Brace"
Cool music video for My Panda Shall Fly. Wes Andereson-esque film editing. Good vibes.
