Matthew Di Paoli
At El Balazo we are excited to have signed our first author, Matthew Di Paoli! His quirky, smart crime novel, Killstanbul, will be available for purchase on El Balazo's website and in stores in the summer of 2015.
Matthew Di Paoli received his BA at Boston College, where he won the Dever Fellowship and the Cardinal Cushing Award for Creative Writing. He has been nominated for the 2015 Pushcart Prize, and he won the Prism Review Short Story Contest. Matthew earned his MFA in Fiction at Columbia University. He has been published in Post Road, Neon, Litro, CURA, Squalorly, Carte Blanche, Black Denim Lit, and Gigantic literary magazines, among others. He teaches writing and literature at Monroe College.
Josh gross
We are very excited to have signed our second author: reporter, produced playwright, musician, and writer Josh Gross. Josh Gross is a frenetic enthusiast of all things communicable. His next book, The Funeral Papers, is co-written with his dead father using an unpublished collection of fiction and essays Josh inherited. It will be published soon by El Balazo Pess!
Will schmitz
El Balazo Press is excited to have signed its third author, Will Schmitz, a dizzyingly prolific writer of poetry, short stories, film scripts, and more. Will has an MFA in poetry from the University of Iowa.
From his Amazon page listing his previously published work, Bots, Come! and Planets Above and Below: "Will Schmitz is the deviant spawn of Gustave Flaubert, Guy de Maupassant, Anton Chekov, Herman Melville and James Joyce in fiction and Charles Baudelaire, Arthur Rimbaud, Robert Browning, Jean Cocteau, Jack Spicer and others in poetry. Nothing of significance in his life except curiosity about 'everything' and access to it -- as should be the case for everyone. If any more need be said, edit your reading experience and listen to more Berg and Ives. Stop watching, agitate, live more. Time's near up."
adam soldofsky
El Balazo Press is stoked to publish Panorama-O-Rama, a book of stereoscopic poetry scenes by Adam Soldofsky.

His series of screenshot poems, The Blind Swordsman Poems, can be found at theblindswordsmanpoems.tumblr.com. Memory Form, a chapbook, is forthcoming from Disorder Press. He lives in Los Angeles, CA.
