The 2011 demise of indie-rock outfit Mineral Stills birthed San Francisco-based synth-rock band, Hard Volt. Hard Volt released three EPs in quick succession: Golden, Lovers, and Holo. As the project gained steam, the band began playing around San Francisco and Los Angeles. The live band helped Hard Volt's sound evolve away from the knob-turning tropicalia of Lovers into the wide-eyed pop bliss of Tomahawk, Hard Volt's debut full-length.
